Vintage ski magazines make up the back ground and create a story of the history of the ski industry over time. The figure is made up of thousands of bits of text from the same vintage magazines. Kelly is a master of 'painting' with text. He thinks of his work like that of a DJ, using samples to piece together a unique and different story.
