Opening Reception 6-8pm Friday February 7th, 2025

JG Art Gallery + Events invites you to join us during Bainbridge Island’s First Friday Art Walk and the opening of our February show “Rain, River, Ocean: The Essence of the Pacific Northwest”.

Celebrating the region’s profound connection to water, this group show features a diverse array of artworks from the gallery’s esteemed artists, each offering a unique perspective on the waterways that define the Pacific Northwest. From the persistent rain that nourishes the lush landscapes to the mighty rivers carving through valleys, and the expansive ocean that shapes the coastline, the exhibition encapsulates the multifaceted relationship between water and the environment. Through various mediums and styles, the artists explore themes of nature, ecology, and the intrinsic beauty of water in its many forms, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the fluid essence of the region.

Join us and enjoy extraordinary artwork, bubbles and good cheer. Meet the artists, enjoy the new collection, have a glass of wine, and reconnect with friends.

Show run Feb. 7th- Mar. 2nd, 2025

New by Amy Ferron:

Amy paints her backgrounds and then applies handmade paper, hand painted paper, purchased papers and maps to create unique landscapes. Her favorite tools are scissors, rotary cutters and X-acto knives.Influenced by the art of Henri Rousseau and Rex Ray, she creates unique garden scenes and landscapes. Her current pieces show flower gardens responding to the environment in which they are placed. The “flowers” grow in the dark of night as well as under a brilliant light from above .

New: Barbara Duzan Sculptures

In addition to working in clay, I create unique animal head sculptures to hang on the wall like a trophy head. No animals are harmed in their creation! I cover the sculpted heads in mosaic-like patterns using beads and found objects such as seedpods, shells, rocks and glass, which are pressed into the clay. Originally, they were a representation of camouflage for protecting prey animals; the irony being that they might end up as a trophy on the wall anyway. I still think of the surface as camouflage but also as an outlet for my love of color and organic shapes, as well as the substrate onto which I sculpt branches, birds and more.
