Angels, whether seen as Buddhist devas, Muslim malaikah, or Mormon spirits, serve various roles. Inspired by Fra Angelico’s vibrant depictions of Gabriel, I created an abstract Angel series in oil monotypes, featuring vibrant colors. My works explore myths and stories about our origins, identity, mortality, and purpose. The narrative evolves through the printmaking process, blending knife, paper, ink, and press. Inspired by Joseph Campbell’s words, I embrace the adventure of creativity: ‘We have not even to risk the adventure alone…’ As a printmaker and designer, I enjoy the spontaneity of monotype printmaking and also design sculptures in laser-cut steel.
