About Peter

Peter Juvonen is a spirited Finnish-American artist with 35 years of experience. His paintings reflect a unique conceptual style driven by his imagination, where lines, shapes, and colors connect like a growing plant. Although he explores representational art, his true passion lies in expressing his energy through skillfully designed and controlled compositions that appear random at first glance. Juvonen draws inspiration from his dreams, travel, and reading, and prefers the freedom to shift between styles, often completing series he becomes obsessed with. His work is featured in numerous notable collections in the Pacific Northwest, including those of Microsoft and Boeing. The Animal Totem series draws from childhood memories of his father, inspired by a dream involving a bear. Juvonen fondly recalls his father’s handstanding abilities, which brought joy to his family. The paintings reflect themes of balance in life and relationships, encouraging viewers to reflect on their connections with animals and the complexities of family. Juvonen hopes his work brings joy to others, similar to what he felt during its creation.
