A separate collection at JG: pieces whose history we have researched and documented. Each entry carries a written record of what is known about prior ownership, exhibition history, and indicated market range based on comparable sales.
What this is
A documented record that travels with the work.
The Provenance Collection is distinct from our represented roster. These are works the gallery has taken in with the purpose of researching their record and offering them with that documentation. We do not invent biography. Where information cannot be confirmed, we say so directly.
Each piece carries a written file: documented prior ownership where known, exhibition history where traceable, attribution opinion, and an indicated market range drawn from comparable sales. The file follows the work.
