Adam Schultz is a sculptor who has been living and working in Northern Colorado for over twenty-five years. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1966, he is an elected member of the National Sculpture Society — the oldest and one of the most prestigious sculpture organizations in the United States. He works primarily in cast bronze and stainless steel, with commissions ranging from miniature to monumental.
His current body of work is the Goddess Series — figurative nudes in bronze, abundant in body and bearing, finished in patinas unique to each cast. The figures are self-possessed rather than offered: women rendered with masterful anatomy combined with subtle poses that suggest dignity, sensuality, and grace. He has spoken about being attracted to the kind of feminine power that is authentic, and continues to explore the female body from the perspective of the woman.
His monumental commissions include sculpture at Arlington National Cemetery near Washington D.C., and the Town of Parker's public art for its Police Department: Freedom Through Safety (2010) — a life-sized bronze eagle in flight, held fourteen feet in the air by two vertical stainless steel pillars representing safety and strength. Morning Flight, a 144-inch bronze and stone work, was donated to the Benson Sculpture Garden in Loveland in 2023.
With his wife and creative partner Lorri Acott, Schultz co-founded Dream Big Sculpture — a company specializing in site-specific monumental sculpture for both private and public collections worldwide for over twenty-five years. Their collaborative work includes Spirit of Renewal, a 22-foot installation for the City of Phoenix's Coffelt-Lamoreaux community. Together, Schultz and Acott also originated the charitable framework that became Gives™.
