A path curving away between tall trunks with a small figure walking it, autumn ground, light coming through from the left in warm ochre. The trees are painted as vertical strokes with almost no branch detail. Wallis reduces a wood to a rhythm of verticals and one warm horizontal, and the walker gives the scale that makes it a place rather than a pattern.
