Astronomical dusk is the moment the sun reaches eighteen degrees below the horizon and the last trace of daylight leaves the sky. Wolf paints it exactly: a mass of slate blue filling five sixths of a three-foot panel, with a thin ember of orange surviving along the very bottom. The title is a measurement, not a mood.
