I find the cormorant in the in-between moments — still on a post, on a rock, simply waiting. In this hand-colored monotype, I worked the fern impressions into the background as a kind of quiet shelter around that stillness. These are the creatures of places we seldom pause long enough to notice, and I want this piece to offer exactly that pause.
