A polished aluminium trailer fills the canvas and the whole street is bent across its flank — buildings, sky and parked cars pulled into curves the trailer's own shape dictates. Guild works strictly from her own photographs, and she has said why: following the photo yields stranger imagery than inventing it, because an invented composition gets tidied without the painter noticing. The chrome does the abstraction here. Everything reflected in it is recognisable and nothing is the right shape.
