The surface under moving light

An empty chairlift crosses a pale field of snow, the chairs hanging as small dark silhouettes from a cable that runs the width of the canvas, with a dark treeline low behind. The snow is worked in pale blue-green and cream with drips left running down it. There are no people. Wade paints the machinery of a ski mountain at rest, and the emptiness is the memoir.
