Six feet tall, and her largest canvas here. The house is small, low and central, and Sivek gives it five feet of sky to sit under — pale grey warming to cream, a single point of light, no cloud structure at all. The blue field beneath is compressed into the last quarter of the picture. The vertical format does the work: at this scale the emptiness above the roofline stops being background and starts being the subject.
