Set your screen once. Hold a bank card against the screen and slide until the orange outline matches its width.

This is the photograph at true size, for placing it in your room with your phone. Its sides and back will appear here after the studio capture — we will not invent them.

The surface under moving light

This view is built only from real photographs of the work, each lit from a different angle, so you can move the light yourself and watch the real surface answer. It is being captured in the studio and will appear here. Until then we show nothing rather than an imitation.

“My current work is about capturing an overall presence of a single figure or creature.”— Erica Nordean

Eighteen by sixteen inches — the largest of her four and the only one in motion. A pale unglazed horse with its head up and mane thrown back, the body compressed and the legs absent entirely, carried on one steel rod from a heavy wood block. The clay is left unglazed, so the surface stays matte and dry and the form has to do all the work.
