A woodblock print on paper: five goldeneye ducks arranged in two rows on an ochre ground, each reduced to the same silhouette with its white cheek-patch. A red seal is printed at the left. The repetition is the composition — the same bird five times, slightly varied, which is a printmaker's way of describing a raft of ducks on water.
