I work in the quiet space where stillness becomes its own kind of shelter. In this hand-colored monotype, I've placed the heron at rest — patient against deep teal and blue-green — beside the slow geometry of a single leaf, its veins as deliberate as anything I find along the water's edge. This is the respite I keep returning to, and the one I most want to leave behind.
