A weathered Adirondack chair sits empty in a dry field with a birdhouse on a post beside it and a grey band of water behind. Forty by thirty inches. This is the other side of her practice — the plein air landscape rather than the studio whimsy — and the handling is entirely different: observed, tonal, and quiet. The chair is empty and the seat is worn.
