A figure reclines in a claw-foot bath against a plain dark wall, and above her hang two small framed portraits in an unmistakably Picassoid manner — faces broken into planes, high colour, nothing like the tonal realism of the nude beneath them. Juvonen paints the bather quietly and the pictures on the wall loudly, so the room contains two entirely different attitudes to a human face and does not resolve them.
