A black cat, or a panther, lies coiled with its tail curled round its body, outlined in red, green eyes open, against a ground of torn white and grey paper with cut crosses scattered through it. Thirty by thirty-seven and a half. The collage is at its most visible here — the ground is built from paper scraps and left rough, which is what she means by the gritty qualities of collage.
