A row of tall thin trees along a ridge, throwing long parallel shadows down a mown pasture toward the viewer. Twenty by forty inches. The shadows are the composition — six or seven of them, evenly spaced, running the width of the canvas — and the trees that cast them are pushed to the top edge. Late light doing the drawing.
