The most heavily built painting Juvonen has here. Rectangles and blocks in teal, rose, gold and ochre are pressed into a thick worked ground, edges overlapping and half-buried, the surface raised enough to catch raking light. Where Words On A Line places its marks on the surface, this one excavates them out of it. The palette is warm and the structure is loosely gridded, and the title supplies the only figurative anchor the picture will admit.
