Warriors in ochre and burnt orange stand against a flat turquoise ground, armoured, still, with a band of dense patterning running along the foot of the picture like a frieze course. Nobody is moving. Fisher gives the figures heavy outlines and no interior modelling so they read as relief carving rather than as men. Half of a pair with Prepare (For Battle) — this is the half where nothing has happened yet.
