A red bird perches on a slender stem among white and violet flowers on a gold ground, with insects and small marks drifting through. Twelve inches square. Everything is on one plane; nothing recedes. Schreivogl has said she wants to transmit the joy she sees in everyday moments, and a bird pausing on a stalk is exactly the size of moment she means.
