A golden retriever lying flat out on its side, asleep, muzzle extended along the ground and one foreleg loose. Duzan models the whole length low and horizontal — it is nearer six inches long than tall — and lets the warm gold patina thin toward the belly where the coat would be sparse. What she gets right is the weight: this is an animal that has given up all of it, and the bronze reads heavy in a way a standing dog would not.
