Thrushes and leaves cut into an allover pattern in scarlet, orange and gold against black, the birds so worked into the foliage that finding them is the whole activity of looking. The colour varies within each cut shape — inked by hand rather than evenly rolled — so no two leaves carry the same red. Fisher annotates the sheet in pencil beneath the image and marks it a monoprint, which makes it a single impression rather than one of an edition. The catalogue currently records the medium differently.
