Three by four feet, her largest work. A dense border of cut blooms, umbels and grasses runs the full width against a pale ground — hundreds of separate elements in violet, cadmium, rose and cream. The title is Emerson. Ferron has said she looks at grasses and flowers as individual and unique things and combines them into a playful world, and at this scale the accumulation is the whole effect.
