The surface under moving light

A white dress against a near-black ground, and across that ground runs faint pale script — words written into the dark and left barely legible. Sivek paints the dress thickly, the skirt in wide strokes that hold the light, and leaves the writing thin. Whatever it says is not meant to be read; it is meant to be seen to be writing. The most explicit of her three dress paintings about what the series is doing, and still saying almost nothing out loud.
