A tall tree seen from below on an upright canvas, the trunk twisting as it rises and the canopy breaking into blue and gold planes. It is the smallest of Guild's forest paintings and the most frankly anthropomorphic — the title admits what the shape suggests. She works from a photograph regardless, which is her whole argument: the strangeness was already there to be found.
