The surface under moving light

This is one of those intense moments where I let the canvas ask the question I couldn't always ask myself — do I belong here? I work the wetland open, sky pressing wide against the earth, those flashes of red and orange forcing their way through the muted greens and teals like feeling that refuses to stay quiet. It is an abstracted melding of landscape and waterscape, intuitive and emotive — not safe, not settled, but honest.
