I build the ground first — worn, weathered, aged at the edges until the canvas holds the weight of time itself. Then the dark, gnarled branches wind through, carrying their pink and white blossoms, and I scatter small unexpected strokes of blue and orange across the quiet sage — the bold, modern note that lifts the whole surface into something reinvented. Worn surfaces and distressed textures combine to create something soft and familiar; then that sudden color arrives, and gentle old meets dynamic new.
