Cherry Blossom

I build the ground first — worn sage, soft blue, faded red layered until the surface feels as though time itself has passed through it. Then the blossoms come, pale pink and drifting, and a single hummingbird in deep-patterned blue hovers at the edge of it all: the bold, modern note that answers the decay beneath. Worn surfaces and distressed textures combine to create something soft and familiar, and then — that unexpected flourish — gentle old meets dynamic new. Mixed media on paper · 24 × 36 in · 2025
