Love Poem

I built this surface the way time builds a wall — worn layers of teal and gold leaf laid down first, then the red blooms and scattered brushstrokes rising through, soft and familiar. At the center I set a framed interior, almost like a page torn from an old Parisian folio, where a hummingbird hovers mid-flight against a golden-pink ground — the bold, unexpected note that answers the weathered quiet around it. Coppée's handwritten verse drifts across the upper field: gentle old meets dynamic new, and something reinvented emerges.
