Bedtime Stories
Two owl chicks perch on a stack of books, with a fox curled below and more volumes ranged along the bottom, their spines carrying half-legible words. Twelve inches square. Schreivogl names 'chicks with sticks knitting away' among her recurring motifs, and this is the same register — animals given small domestic occupations without being cartooned. The lettering is worked in rather than written on.
