A garden bed in full summer: scarlet poppies massed against green with a fence and outbuildings behind. Twenty by twenty-four. He has said he is often stopped in his tracks when the light at a certain hour hits a landscape and makes it come alive with colour, and this is that moment recorded — the reds are at their loudest and everything else has stepped back.
