Freya
Eighteen by sixteen inches — the largest of her four and the only one in motion. A pale unglazed horse with its head up and mane thrown back, the body compressed and the legs absent entirely, carried on one steel rod from a heavy walnut block. Freya is the Norse goddess who rides to the battlefield; Nordean is a Norse name. The clay is left unglazed, so the surface stays matte and dry and the form has to do all the work.
