The dark one. A standing horse, head lowered, its whole surface encrusted where the glaze pooled and ran in browns and creams — the firing left visible as weather on the animal. Twelve by eight inches, glazed ceramic mounted in resin on a wood stand, so the piece is held against a clear sheet rather than pinned above a plinth. Of the four it is the most complete and the least serene.
