Baalbek
Four large discs in aubergine and deep maroon sit on a pale lavender ground, divided by heavy dark lines that run between and past them. It is the most reduced picture Fisher has here — no pattern inside the circles, no incident at the edges, nothing but the placement. Named for the great Roman temple complex in the Bekaa, and the discs do read as column drums seen from above, laid out where they fell.
