I've painted this truck the way I know it: not as a relic, but as something still in use, still part of the rhythm of island life. A garden truck carries the work of a place in its bed and its dents, and that's what I'm after. Bainbridge has that quality of the useful and the rooted existing side by side, and this painting tries to stay honest to that.
