Bandit

Barbara Duzan

A raccoon's face worked entirely in beadwork and mounted on the wall, the mask running deep blue and black across the eyes, the muzzle massed in white, and a wreath of beaded green leaves and acorns surrounding the whole head. The bead placement follows the direction the fur would grow, which is what keeps it from reading as mosaic. Of Duzan's beaded wall pieces this is the one where the animal most clearly looks back.
