Big Bear
The largest and most laden of Duzan's beaded works. A bear's head, wall-mounted, its entire surface built from beads laid in eye-patterned rosettes that read as peacock feather from a distance and as thousands of individual glass placements up close. A ruff of beaded flowers and leaves in orange, green and rose gathers where the neck would meet the wall. Set against the mass of the head, the delicacy of the making is the whole tension: an object of intimidation, assembled one bead at a time.
