Canopus
A tall narrow strip, ten inches wide at most, carrying a column of small circles in blue and gold with fine patterning inside each. The proportions are those of a bookmark or a bell-pull rather than a picture, and the repetition down its length is regular enough to read as a count. Fisher uses this format for his star and city names — the shape of something that is more sequence than scene.
