I painted this small canvas as a place to rest — a modest barn settled among slender trees, a creek threading quietly through the foreground, the sky holding that soft gray-pink light that comes before the weather changes. These are the kinds of corners of Cascadia I want to leave behind, the way you plant trees before you die, so that something of the magical places remains. Oil on canvas · 12 × 6 × 1 in · 2025
