Janus
A standing column with a cruciform section, so that from every approach two faces of it are visible and two are hidden. Sited outdoors, dark against planting, and at nine thousand eight hundred dollars the most substantial work Fisher has here. The god of doorways looks both ways at once; the sculpture makes that literal by never presenting a single front. The fins are cut with a slight taper so the silhouette narrows as it rises.
