Mnemosyne
A central figure with a radiating halo stands on a ground of rose, olive and cadmium, surrounded by small floating shapes — a cart, a bird, a vessel, a face — each drawn in outline and none connected to another. Mnemosyne is memory, mother of the Muses, and the composition behaves like memory does: one thing central and clear, everything else adrift around it at the wrong scale.
