Monolith
A white barn stands frontally against a flat blue sky on a band of red earth. Five feet by four. There is no landscape, no detail, no weather — the building is reduced to a rectangle with a few dark openings and given the whole canvas. Called a monolith, and painted as one: a plain mass on a plain ground.
