Reflections On The Moon 2

Andy McConnell

recycled red cedar house siding and trim, Ecopoxy (soy-based resin), acrylic paint. A square panel divided horizontally: the upper half reads dark cedar grain in charcoal and black; the lower semicircle holds concentric curved striations in white, grey, and dark blue-grey — the moon’s surface as carved wood and layered pigment. McConnell studied poetry and painting at Fairhaven College under Robert Sund; the reflection series is his most formally structured.
