Sunburst
Thirty by forty inches. A band of orange tulips runs across the lower third, a violet ridge behind, and above it the sky is worked in short strokes of cadmium and gold that radiate outward from a point above the mountains. The three registers are separated by his red outline. It is the most purely constructed of his studio impastos — nothing here is observed, everything is assembled.
