Susa

Brian Fisher

A dark cut form rises from a small plinth and curls over at the top into a spiral, with a figure worked into the lower half of the coil. The proportions are those of a fiddlehead or a crozier. Named for the Elamite capital, one of the oldest continuously occupied cities on earth, and the single upward turning line is a reasonable shape for a place that kept starting again.
