Upon Reflection
I return again and again to these quiet, wooded places — a slender trunk reaching upward, light filtering through the canopy, and below it all, still water that holds the whole scene in reflection. That red structure tucked among the deep greens reminds me that these are inhabited, living places worth remembering. I work in watercolor here to find, and offer, a moment of respite from the world's noise.
