Yerevan
A tall narrow column of circles in magenta, plum and violet, stacked one above another down a near-black ground, thirty-eight inches high and only ten wide. The proportions are those of a banner or a stele rather than a picture. Each disc carries a different internal pattern. Fisher uses the same vocabulary here as in Shahdad but stands it upright, and the change of axis turns a catalogue of finds into something closer to a spine.
