Tim McMeans
Mixed media
I come from a family of skilled workers like bookbinders and carpenters, who taught me craftsmanship and determination. I continue this tradition in my art, using the movements of animals and birds to convey personal stories. These creatures enrich my life with their beauty and spirit, reflecting my memories, experiences, and the natural world.
Krista Reuter
Mixed media
Krista Reuter is a Michigan artist known for her layered paper art that plays with light and shadow. Inspired by abstract patterns in nature, she holds a BFA from Iowa State University and studied at the Royal College of Art. Her award-winning works have been exhibited internationally, and she served as program director at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts for six years. Her techniques emphasize simplicity, using fine lines and piercing to create both fragility and strength. Reuter’s work blurs the lines between drawing and sculpture, inviting curiosity through layered sheets that cast intriguing shadows. She aims to celebrate the handmade and shift perspectives, creating impactful, poetic spatial experiences.
Brooke Borcherding
Painter
Brooke is a self-taught landscape painter who started plein air painting in 2009. Her distinctive style focuses on human perception through a deconstructed technique resembling modern pointillism, using color blocks to create vibrant compositions. Her recent acrylic works blend traditional and contemporary landscapes, showcasing energy through broken color techniques. An exhibiting artist for over a decade, Brooke’s nationally and internationally recognized work is featured in Pacific Northwest galleries. Highlights include a feature in Plein Air Magazine (September 2022) and recognition in American Art Collector Magazine (2019). She has won awards such as Best Oil/Acrylic Painting at the 2018 Carmel Plein Air Competition. In Seattle, her art is displayed in local businesses and art walks. Outside of painting, Brooke is a ranked pinball competitor.
Ericka Wolf
Painter
Ericka warmly invites viewers to fully immerse themselves in the mesmerizing painting, encouraging them to embrace a soft, blurry consciousness that invites introspection and reflection. She urges each individual to take a moment to absorb the breathtaking beauty of the luminous horizon light just before sunset—a magical time when the mind is calm, open, and receptive to the subtleties of existence. In this serene state, one can truly appreciate the delicate interplay of colors in the sky, which she perceives as a powerful metaphor for life’s vast expansiveness. This expansive quality of the sky is not only vibrant and rich with hues but also showcases the duality and impermanence inherent in all things. Just as the sky shifts from brilliant light to the tranquil hues of twilight, our lives are characterized by constant change and evolution. As the wise Pema Chödrön beautifully articulated, “You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather,” reminding us that our true essence remains unchanged even amid the storms and sunshine that life may bring. In this way, Ericka invites us to see beyond the transient moments and find solace in the enduring sky that represents our spirit.
